Dairy Free Chocolate Cake

This cake can made with ingredients you always have in your pantry. It is moist and delicious! Top with your favorite chocolate frosting and enjoy!
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 TBS unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 TBS vegetable oil, liquid coconut oil should work too
  • 1 TBS white vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Optional: 1 TBS hemp hearts
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Add oil, vinegar, vanilla and water and stir until evenly blended.
  4. Pour the cake batter into an ungreased cake pan (8x8).
  5. Bake for 35 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely.
  7. Optional: after icing the cake, sprinkle with 1 TBS of hemp hearts.
