We bought Max a winter coat from Value Village this year. It is a down-filled, navy blue, puffy coat from The Gap and only cost us $7.99. The only thing that bothered us was how terrible the Velcro looked. Velcro filled with lint and debris from the dryer can make a coat look old, dirty and unattractive. I tried picking it out with my fingers and quickly found that to be inefficient and painful so we turned to Google. Don’t you love Google?
Josh clicked on the first link in the search, Clean Velcro, and told me to use the teeth on a tape roll. I was confused until I actually picked up the tape roll and realized it was the perfect solution. Quick, easy and very efficient!
- The velcro tabs in this used winter coat made the coat look old and dirty.
- Using the teeth on a tape roller was a quick and easy way to clean the Velcro.
- Halfway through the cleaning process!
- Just like new! The Velcro on Max’s jacket now looks clean and new!
Brilliant!
That is what a Google search does–it makes you brilliant! 🙂
That is the coolest thing ever..off to try it on my coat!! Thx
I hope it works as well for you as it did for me!
Great tip! I’ll be trying that on my purse today!
Awesome! Let me know if it works out for you!
I also googled it and saw a short video on cleaning velcro. The person in the video used a comb and I tried it on my couch and it worked but still left some lint behind. I then saw my dogs brush (the kind with the metal teeth) and that finished up the job in no time. Not sure what we did before Google.
Thank you! And thank Google!
THANKS! Just cleaned my knee brace quick and easy. The Scotch tape dispenser was on my desk, next to me.
It’s about time that I clean out the velcro on my son’s sneakers again! Happy this tip was useful to you, Roger.
